If you’ve been following Vegemitevix you’ll know I have a thang for Annabel Langbein.Call it a girl-cook crush. In fact back in the early days I even attended her cookschool in The Strand building in Parnell. A glass of wine, a recipe display and then eating the results. Fabulous! In 2012 I held a dinner party to celebrate the release of her Summer album (which was great fun. See dinner party pics here) So when Mother’s Day rolled around last Sunday the latest Winter album was high on my list and lovely Son bought it for me. It’s a great book full of beautiful pics and food styling so good you’ll want to lick the page. But more than that, we love the way Annabel throws in some no nonsense tips about how to make the budget spread further. I tried the potato skin crisps from the peelings as I cooked the roast last weekend and they were sooo good. Something out of nothing – I like it. I made a big batch of the Tomato Sauce too and it lasted a whole week of work from home lunches, and two dinners – Moussaka and Bolognaise. Easy enough for even the hubs to put the dinner on. We love that.
